ASTir Vibro-Cutter is a Weapon in The Surge.
ASTir Vibro-Cutter Information
The Vibro-Cutter is ASTir's flagship product, but it's just one of many high-powered cutting tools ASTir produces for industrial applications around the world. Its ease of use, tempered tungsten cutting teeth, and rugged chassis makes it a go-to choice for many CREO employees.
ASTir Vibro-Cutter Details
- Need 60% more impact to reach High Impact.
ASTir Vibro-Cutter Location / Where to find
- Assembly Halls - after acquiring the Atlas Power Core and installing it. Sever the right arm of the second enemy right outside the Medbay to acquire this weapon. It is the one weilding it.
- Power Plant - on the ground of a room
- Dropped by various enemies in the Abandoned Production zone (the first zone) if you sever their right arm.
ASTir Vibro-Cutter Notes & Tips
- A very capable weapon for the first zone, and is excellent for farming the two RHINO enemies, as it isn't likely to kill them outright while building up energy for a finishing move.
- Salvages for 3x Tungsten Alloy Mk. I
- Is ITEM_WEAPON_HAND1_01 in the game data.

To be exact:
It is NOT a chainsaw-sword, although the aethetics are clearly coined on the (in-)famous Space Marine weapon.
It is actually a vibro-blade (see cyber punk , Metal Gear or the expanded Star Wars universes for references) - a blade that is made to swing with an ultra high frequency to cut with highly amplified force.
This blade features a jagged edge, but it will NOT move forward and backward, nor will anything about it rotate or make chainsaw-sounds.
At all.
Devs could have implemented a subtle humming sound, maybe.... but anyways, so no chainsword here.
Yet a very cool starting weapon for sword enthusiasts.
Till you get a frikkin´ power-sword like any good Space Marine wants to ; )

Is this the axe you see the character using in one of the first promo videos?
Beat the entire game and DLCs with just this and Lynx armor. Should have done it with the reinforced pipe but I'm not good at the game. Fun weapon and learning experience.
